Dongmangbong in Sungin-dong, Jongno-gu, is imbued with the poignant story of Queen Jeongsun, the consort of Danjong, the sixth king of the Joseon Dynasty. Here remain the footprints of a woman who faced separation at the tender age of eighteen and spent over sixty years gazing at the eastern sky, longing for her beloved. In the spring of 2026, we seek to transform that deep 'purple longing' into 'hope and comfort.' We are hosting the Queen Jeongsun Cultural Festival to reflect on the warm hearts of the neighboring people who silently watched over the Queen, who was left all alone.
