The 2026 Busan Science Festival, a representative science and culture event of Busan, will be held for two days from April 11 to April 12, 2026, at Halls 1 and 2A of Exhibition Center 1 at BEXCO in Busan. Marking its 25th anniversary this year, the Busan Science Festival is the largest science event in the Busan region and is an experience-oriented science and culture festival in which citizens and youth participate together. Notably, this year's event is being held in conjunction with the Korea Science Festival, making it an integrated science and culture event where a national science festival blends with a representative regional science event. The theme of the event is "The Taste of Science – AI Cooks Too," consisting of various exhibitions and experience programs that combine the familiar themes of science and food. Programs offering science experiences, experiments, and inquiry activities will be operated in various themed spaces based on the concept of "taste," such as the Sweet Playground, Fresh Lab, Salty Laboratory, Umami Chat Room, and Bitter Exploration Room. Universities, research institutes, science-related organizations, and schools in the Busan region will participate to showcase various science experience booths and experimental programs, while science lectures, performances, and citizen-participatory hands-on activities will also be provided. It is a participatory science and culture festival designed to allow citizens to experience and enjoy science in an easy and engaging way in their daily lives.
