Donggu Mudeungsan Humanities Festival

The ‘Dong-gu Mudeungsan Humanities Festival’ is a humanities and arts festival held in the Jeungsimsa area of Mudeungsan National Park in Gwangju. Based on the spirit of ‘equality’ embodied in the name Mudeung (meaning ‘no equal’), it serves as a venue for humanities activities where any citizen can create ‘their own thoughts’ rather than those of others. Visitors can experience a ‘cycle of thought’ by momentarily emptying the noise of daily life (OFF), listening to the voices of others to turn on new ideas (ON), and expanding those reflections into the values of the times. Going beyond a simple festival, it serves as a space for self-questioning and mutual sharing of thoughts; through various programs such as lectures, hands-on experiences, performances, and exhibitions amidst the nature of Mudeungsan in early summer, visitors can enjoy the leisure of thought and rest.
