The Jeolla Byeongyeongseong Festival is a historical and cultural festival held at Jeolla Byeongyeongseong Fortress in Byeongyeong-myeon, Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do. It is based on the historical background of Byeongyeongseong, which served as the military center governing Jeolla-do and Jeju-do during the Joseon Dynasty. A key feature of the festival is that it utilizes the actual fortress walls and ruins of Jeolla Byeongyeongseong, which were used as military facilities for approximately 500 years, allowing visitors to vividly experience the atmosphere of a Joseon Dynasty military camp. During the festival, various programs such as traditional costume experiences, reenactments of soldier training, and traditional performances are offered, designed to allow visitors to naturally experience the life and culture of that era. Furthermore, through events and various hands-on activities held along the fortress walls, the festival is characterized as an experiential event where visitors can actively participate and enjoy themselves, rather than merely observing.
