Hongseong Namdang Port Surf Clam Festival

Surf clams, primarily caught in the Namdang Port and Cheonsuman Bay areas between December and the following March, are in season due to their plump and large flesh. Characterized by their chewy texture and clean, savory umami flavor, surf clams are loved by many for being rich in nutrients such as protein, iron, taurine, and essential amino acids. The Surf Clam Festival is held throughout the winter and attracts many tourists.
