*The festival details below are from the previous year (2025), and the details for 2026 are currently being updated.* The Suyeong region has long been rich in marine resources, making it the first place in the Busan area where the fishing industry developed. In particular, following the establishment of Gyeongsang Jwasuyeong during the Joseon Dynasty, 'Eobang'—a cooperative fishing community for fishermen and the navy—was established. The 'Jwasuyeong Eobang Nori,' a play based on the fishing processes of that time, has been preserved and passed down. The Gwangalli Eobang Festival uses the name 'Eobang' to signify the continuation of this tradition and is a representative festival of Busan themed around Gyeongsang Jwasuyeong and the folklore of traditional fishing villages.
