Asan Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival

The Asan Hero Yi Sun-sin Festival is held annually at famous landmarks in Asan City around the anniversary of Admiral Yi Sun-sin's birthday with the aim of reviving his spirit of patriotism, love for the nation, and loyalty and filial piety. The Asan Hero Yi Sun-sin Festival is a celebration that honors the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a renowned general who saved the nation, and allows visitors to learn about the trajectory of his life through various programs. First held in 1961 under the name Onyang Cultural Festival, it has continued annually to this day, and since 2004, it has been held under the name Asan Hero Yi Sun-sin Festival.
