The Chuncheon Mime Festival is Korea's representative performing arts festival that connects the city, art, and citizens through mime, an art form that conveys the mind through bodily movement. Held annually during the last week of May in Chuncheon, the city of water and spring, it is recognized as one of the world's top three mime festivals, alongside the Mimos festival in France and the London Mime Festival in the UK, and continues to elevate its international standing. By creating a new genre called "Chuncheon + Mime + Festival" through the convergence of wordless movements with various elements such as water, fire, flowers, light, and video, it captures the emotions and hearts of the city and its residents. It is a festival of "Nanjang" (free-spirited spectacle) that unravels the desires of the city and the times through artistic gestures. The 2026 Chuncheon Mime Festival will be held from May 24 to May 31 under the theme of 'Body Landscapes', showcasing a variety of body landscapes throughout Chuncheon City for eight days, starting with the opening event 'Ah! Surajang', followed by theater performances, 'Walking and Watching Mime', 'Art Festival X', and the all-night 'Goblin Festival'.
