Janghang Port Seafood Festival

Every spring, in May and June, the Kkolgap Festival is held at Janghang Port in Seocheon-gun, Chungnam Province, hosted by the Seocheon-gun Fishermen's Association. At the festival grounds, in addition to serving various types of fresh sashimi, tasting events are held to promote Seocheon's excellent seafood. Furthermore, seafood and dried fish auctioned by the local fisheries cooperative will be available at affordable prices through sales booths. Along with this, a waterside sashimi cafe is operated at Janghang Port, where visitors can enjoy chewy sashimi while overlooking the Geum River. The Kkolgap Festival is expected to offer multiple benefits in one trip: driving along the Geum River Estuary coastal road stretching approximately 10km from the Dongseocheon Tollgate, visiting attractions such as the Janghang Smelting Plant chimney, an amusement park, the Hansan Sinseong-ri Reed Field (the filming location for the movie JSA), and the Hansan Ramie Museum, and filling your stomach with delicious food at the festival grounds.
